Minister emeritus julius greeneJulius And Donna Greene, Minister Emeritus

faithfully serving since 1982

Julius S. Greene is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated from Winston-Salem, Forsyth County Schools and attended Forsyth Technical Community College and Winston Salem State University (Business Administration).

He also attended the Linville Forest School of Preaching, and took correspondence courses through Southwestern Christian College. He was a faithful employee for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for 32 years until his retirement.

Julius began preaching in 1982 at the Woodmere Church of Christ where he helped grow the congregation from 7 to 42 members. This was an excellent opportunity for him to develop his ministerial growth and training.

However, in 1984, Julius matriculated to Carver Road Church of Christ https://www.carverroadchurchofchrist.org/ where he served as the assistant under Bro. Cloys Cecil for 12 years. Finally, God saw fit for Julius to transition once again to the South English Church of Christ.

Here, he worked as the assistant minister in Greensboro per the request of its head minister, Bro. Jerry Taylor. After five years of serving in the capacity of assistant, Julius was asked to become the full-time minister in Greensboro the of South English Street (Now Sharpe Road Church of Christ) after Bro. Taylor relocated.

He served in that capacity faithfully until January 2017 when he retired from full-time ministry.  He currently serves the congregation as Minister Emeritus. Julius has been happily married to his lovely wife, Donna for 37 years.

Through this union, Julius and Donna were blessed with two lovely children; a son, Julius A. Greene, and a daughter, Nikki (Nicholas) Glenn. He also has a grandson, Evan Chase, and a granddaughter, Nia Symone Glenn.

The importance of ministers, preachers, and evangelists

Ministers who faithfully preach the gospel of Jesus Christ serve a crucial role in individual lives and communities. Their words and actions impart timeless truths of love, compassion, and forgiveness, inspiring believers to deepen their faith and guiding seekers toward spiritual fulfillment.

Such ministers not only uphold the teachings of Christ but also act as beacons of hope and unity, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose among their congregation.

Their dedication to spreading the gospel nurtures a foundation of moral values and ethical conduct, contributing positively to the moral fabric of society at large. Thus, a minister who preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ plays a vital role in shaping hearts, minds, and communities toward greater understanding, compassion, and spiritual growth.
